Regional Commissioner–Stephanie Miller (leaving after 2011/12 season)
It is the Regional Commissioner (RC) that provides the leadership for an AYSO Region to really make a difference in children’s lives. The local Regions are the front line of the program and they require dedicated and thoughtful leadership. There are many other volunteer Region board members but it is the RC who brings them all together to make the program really work.
Assistant Regional Commissioner – NEEDED
The Assistant Regional Commissioner shall perform such duties as may be delegated to the Assistant Regional Commissioner by the Regional Commissioner and in his/her absence, shall perform the duties of the Regional Commissioner on behalf of the Region.
Regional Treasurer – Tracy Colby
The Regional Treasurer makes sure that player money is properly accounted for and Region bills are paid promptly, and takes the lead in preparing the Region budget. Experience in finance, accounting or bookkeeping and an excellent attention to detail are helpful for this position.
Coach Administrator – Susie Sebright
Good coaches make for a great AYSO experience for every young player. AYSO volunteer coaches all show the same generosity of spirit to offer their time for young athletes, but have different skill levels and personal coaching philosophies. The Coach Administrator keeps track of the coaches in the Region, offers training and certification, models AYSO’s coaching philosophies and implements the National Coaching Program before, during and after the season
Assistant Coach Administrator – NEEDED!!!!
Helps the Coach Administrator with his/her duties.
Regional Referee Administrator – NEEDED!!!!!
Referees ensure that the game is safe, fun and fair for players, coaches and fans. The Region Referee Administrator supports the AYSO National Referee Program, making sure all referees are trained, certified and properly registered, schedules assignments for referees and assistant referees within the Region, and makes sure that the games are fun for all.
CVPA – Ray Hoffman
The Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) is a unique AYSO job that is required for every Region and is one of the seven required Region board positions. It is the role of the CVPA to oversee the AYSO child and volunteer protection program in accordance with AYSO Safe Haven policies. A fun, fair and safe experience for both volunteers and children is the objective of every CVPA.
Registrar – Laura Schultz
The Registrar is so important in an AYSO Region, it is a required position on every Region board. The Registrar makes sure player registration is a smooth experience, oversees the registration accounting system and works on programs to make Registration events a fun, successful process. The registrar is the keeper of the philosophy of Open Registration upon availability(this, as you know is based on coaches available for how many players we can place on teams) ensuring that every child who wants to play gets to play in AYSO.
Safety Director – NEEDED!!!!!!
Safety is such a fundamental part of the AYSO experience that the Safety Director is a required position on a Region board. Fills out accident reports and passes them onto the proper people after the accident. Makes sure the coaches have all the papers they need about safety for the soccer season to be a success.
The Regional Secretary, if any, shall take minutes at all meetings of the Regional Board and general meetings of the Region and shall be charged with sending out all general correspondence and notices for the Region. The Regional Secretary shall be responsible for publishing the minutes to the Regional Board and for sending a copy of the minutes to the Area Director after they are approved
The uniform manager is responsible for keeping an inventory of all the uniforms the Region has, and ordering new uniforms as needed before the season begins to make sure each team has enough uniforms. During the preseason, it may be necessary to order special sizes depending upon the players on the team. The manager is responsible for distributing the uniforms to the various teams before the season begins. For making sure we get the U14 and U19 jerseys back after each fall/spring season.
The Fields Manager is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the playing fields and ensuring that the fields are properly lined. He/she shall also assist the Regional Risk Management/Safety Director in maintaining the playing fields in a safe condition and advising the Board and responsible organization (city or school district) on the status and conditions of the fields.
The Field Striping Coordinator is responsible for scheduling volunteers to line the fields on a timely basis and to work with the City on any issues that come up in using the City equipment to line the fields.

Picture Day Coordinator –NEEDED!!!!
The Picture Day Coordinator is responsible for reviewing potential photographers, making a recommendation to the Board, working as a liaison between the Regional Board and the vendor contracted to provide pictures for Regional teams and players, scheduling of teams at the site(s) selected for the photography sessions, and distribution of the pictures to the teams.
Create schedules for all age groups playing regional games. Schedules should take into account a reasonable balance of game times, net duty and field usage, as well as home team - visiting team allocation. In addition, the schedules should eliminate regional game team color conflicts by preventing same color teams from playing each other during regular season play. This is accomplished by utilizing a color chart of team colors. Schedules should also make a reasonable accommodation for any COACH who is coaching two teams so as to minimize timing conflicts between games. Schedules are built approximately three to six weeks before the first game, and should be ready for distribution two weeks before the first game or earlier is possible.
Fundraiser Coordinator – Hope Hoffer (NEEDED for 2011/2012 season)
Order and distribute the fundraiser to parents for their kids to sell. Collect all monies from the fundraiser and turn into the Treasurer.
Trophy/Medal Director – Terri Maule
The Trophy Coordinator is responsible for recommending to the Board awards for the players, and with Board approval, the purchase and distribution of those awards.
This person is responsible for coordinating the trophies for the league around 200-220 medals or trophies.
Sponsor Coordinator – NEEDED!!!!!
The Sponsor Coordinator is responsible for recruiting sponsors, collecting sponsorship fees and accounting for these funds to the Regional Treasurer, assigning sponsors to specific teams, maintaining communication between the Region and the sponsors, and providing sponsorship recognition and appreciation.
This position helps get sponsors for teams. Skills needed include ability to sell benefits of AYSO sponsorship to local businesses, good communication skills, time during the day to call or visit local businesses.
